Venue Sustainability Program

The Problem

Coming under more and more public scrutiny and industry pressure, our Client – a leading venue and event owner operator – required assistance in the implementation of a long term sustainability program that would see it be an industry front runner when it comes to total venue sustainability.

The Strategy

To develop a platform to enable the Client to become a long term partner in the delivery of a total venue sustainability program that encompassed all facets including water, energy, lighting, waste and transport and would reduce carbon emissions and compliment future venue plans moving forward.

The Solution

• To undergo a total venue study that included:
• Energy use
• Transport impact
• Water conservation and effluent management
• Light and sound pollution
• Ecological and heritage sensitivity
• To introduce a site wide long term Sustainability Policy that would:

• Commit to sustainability, resourcing and staff
• Incorporate consultation process, training of staff and education of key stakeholders
• Record statement of goals or objectives
• Entail descriptions of key sustainable indicators that performance will be measured against
• Implementation of the solid waste management and education plan:
• Provide ongoing support and reporting to ensure objectives and goals were being met

Whilst this project is ongoing the immediate results will be significant reduction in waste to landfill, reduction of carbon emissions, water recycling and the reduction of drinking water usage, the introduction of solar power lighting
